The New Orleans Hornets, fed up with the ‘Kobe or Lebron’ two-man race for the Maurice Podoloff hardware, have launched a new website called CP3MVP.com to help promote Chris Paul as the NBA’s Most Valuable Player this season.
The site is a great idea. Paul is averaging 21 points and 11 assists and is on his way to becoming the first player in over 15 years to average 20-plus points and 10-plus assists per game. He deserves all of the attention he can get. But you know what else he deserves? A better frickin’ website.
Yeah, the CP3MVP.com site is terribly disappointing. It’s basically just a glorified link to some busy MySpace page they hastily threw together. In fact, it’s so bad, that Paul’s starting to get grilled on his own page!
Here’s one particularly questionable comment I managed to grab a shot of before the Hornets cyber team could remove it from the site:

Hey, Boy Scout, listen up: I am a great snake, a snake taller than the biggest pine tree or Phil Jackson’s sideline throne, and whose heart is stronger than all of your honeybees combined. I am the chief ’round here. It’s my time. Yeah, come see me when you play with a fubar’d finger. Otherwise, take a back seat, Rook, and enjoy the show. And hey, call my people: we’ll hook you up with a real nice website. Carpe diem. Toodles!
