The 10-man rotation, starring the Birdman’s return

January 30th, 2008 · No Comments

A look around the league and the web that covers it.
It’s also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren’t
always listed in order of importance. That’s for you, dear reader, to figure
out.

C: Boston
Globe
. Peter May on the potential return of Chris Andersen, and the
nonsense notion that great teams deserve representation on the All-Star team.
Can’t a team just be great and not have any All-Stars? Why punish a player on a
lousy team having a better year by sending an inferior player to the Game who
happens to play on a better team? May also dismisses the idea of Marcus Camby
making the game, because the team "can’t
have three Nuggets; they’re not that good."
I’m off to yell at some empty
water bottles.
PF: Chicago
Tribune
. Melissa Isaacson on the nutty world of interim coaches.
SF: New
York Times
. Detroit Pistons, now featuring players born during the Reagan
Administration!
SG: Los
Angeles Times
. Guesswork time, focusing on what LeBron James might do in
2010. Always fun. People: LBJ won’t leave the Cavs because he puts a Yankee
insignia on a shoe that nobody can afford. He’d leave the team because Danny
Ferry has done a crummy job as general manager.
PG: Boston
Globe
. Doc Rivers reflects on the time that ABC paid Al Michaels a lot of
money to get him to pretend that he liked pro basketball.
6th: Hardwood
Paroxysm
. A-rebuildin’ we will go.
7th: Need 4 Sheed.
Rasheed Wallace cakes. Rasheed Wallace
cakes?
Rasheed Wallace cakes. The butter wouldn’t melt so
we put it in the pie
(3:05 mark, in the clip). Pistons fans made Rasheed Wallace cakes.
8th: CelticsBlog.
How to beat the Celtics. A curious admission from Jeff’s list? "Strain Kevin Garnett’s abdomen."
9th: The
Blowtorch
. Denim does absolute wonders for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
10th: The
Recliner GM
. Profiling former Trail Blazer GM, the man who shot Kennedy
chose Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan.
